Aqua Ultraviolet UV Sterilizers will eradicate algae, bacteria, and protozoa without any harmful chemicals or additives!
UV lamps emit a wavelength that will alter and disrupt the DNA or RNA of single-celled organisms. Combining the UV lamp into a large housing allows for maximum contact time with the lamp allowing the sterilizer to be much more efficient. By changing the flow rates through the body of the UV sterilizer lets you target the specific issue you may be having. Most reefers will report that their tanks water clears up overnight with others taking just a couple days, and as long as the UV is running, the water will stay crystal clear! Every AquaUV Sterilizer includes quick-connect unions on the input and output allowing you to quickly remove the entire system from your aquariums plumbing for maintenance, allowing you to mount the UV Sterilizer without having to worry about having room for quartz sleeve and bulb changes.
- Clear Blue Quartz Cap - Lets you see when the lamp is on
- EZ-Twist Cap - Quick and easy quartz sleeve maintenance
- Quick Release Unions - Remove the entire body without any dismantling your plumbing
Great for tanks up to reef tanks up to 355-gallons
Suggested flow rate for saltwater aquarium sterilization - 1066 GPH
How It Works
The Ultraviolet Lamp emits a germicidal ray which alters or disrupts the DNA or RNA of single celled organisms.
Aqua Ultraviolet water purification systems will eradicate these organisms without any harmful residuals.
Aqua Ultraviolet UV's will clear your water in 3 to 5 days sometimes overnight and keep it that way.
Classic 57 Watt*
- Fresh Water Sterilizer 1500-3000 gals / Flowrate – 3200 gph for 30,000 µw/cm2
- Fresh Water Clarifier to 6500 gals
- Salt Water Sterilizer to 355 gals / Flowrate – 1066 gph for 90,000 µw/cm2
Over time the efficiency of the sterilizer will start to diminish because the lamp is no longer putting out the same amount of energy, but also the quartz sleeve that houses the lamp can become coated with mineral deposits and start to become cloudy. By replacing the quartz sleeve about once per year, and also the UV lamp, your UV sterilizer will work just like it did on day one. Most reefers will know it is time to replace the bulb and sleeve when algae starts to grow on the glass, rock, and other surfaces more rapidly.

Classic Series – Classic Series Sterilizers are perfect for both experienced and non-experienced end users. UV Sterilization is versatile technology used for disinfecting water, other opaque liquids, hard surfaces and air. Using the same germicidal rays as the sun, but hundreds of times stronger, UV offers a reliable, cost effective, environmentally friendly alternative to chemicals and their resulting bi-products.
UV Sterilization is a purely physical process so it doesn’t alter water’s chemistry, taste, smell or pH.
The Classic Series ultraviolet water purification system is compact and lightweight ideal for ponds, aquariums, and water features. Classic Series units are lightweight units designed for maximum UV effectiveness.
